You can use the Database for this, then you can import and export, update as you need

I haven't come across this personally but can definitely see the benefit!

Include the ability to export an existing drop down collection as a CSV file. Many times a collection can get turned into a datasource, so the ability to export as aCSV without always creating/adding items from scratch would be beneficial!
